Indications for use

Tricillin is prescribed for cows for the prevention and treatment of postpartum endometritis and other inflammatory diseases of the birth canal of bacterial etiology, following assistance in delivery, cesarean section, surgical separation of the placenta, complicated births, and birth canal injuries. It is also used for wound treatment and as part of complex therapy in treating necrobacillosis and hoof rot of the distal limbs and hooves.

Application procedure

For the prevention and treatment of postpartum endometritis when the placenta is retained:

  • 12 – 24 hours post-calving, Tricillin is administered into the uterine cavity at a dose of 2.5-3 g, and under the placenta in the vagina at a dose of 1.5 g.
  • The drug is diluted in 50-100 ml of sterile vegetable oil at room temperature.
  • Treatment is repeated every 48 hours until spontaneous separation of the placenta, but no more than 3 times.
  • After surgical separation of the placenta: for the prevention of birth canal diseases, Tricillin is administered into the uterine cavity twice at a dose of 1.5 – 3 g with a 48-hour interval.
  • In cases of complicated births, birth canal injuries after delivery assistance, and cesarean sections, Tricillin is administered once into the uterine cavity at a dose of 1.5-3 g.

For wound treatment, 3 – 6 g of the drug (depending on the size of the affected area) is applied evenly over the entire wound surface, extending to healthy tissues within a 3-5 mm radius. If reapplication is necessary, the same dose is applied 48 hours after the first application.

For the treatment of necrobacillosis and hoof rot of the distal limbs and hooves as part of complex therapy, Tricillin is applied depending on the area of the affected surface and the depth of the lesion in amounts of 2.5 – 3 g 2 – 3 times with a 72-hour interval.
