Indications for use
Tolfemax 8% is used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic agent in complex therapy for:
- Cattle: to control inflammatory processes in respiratory infections, acute mastitis, and musculoskeletal diseases
- Swine: for the treatment of mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome
- Dogs: as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory during musculoskeletal disorders, surgical procedures, and postoperative care
- Cats: as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory for musculoskeletal diseases, upper respiratory tract infections, and as an antipyretic agent
Application procedure
Tolfemax 8% is administered at the following concentrations and doses:
Cattle:
- For respiratory and musculoskeletal inflammation: Intramuscular injection into the neck at 1 ml/40 kg body weight (2 mg/kg). Repeat if necessary after 48 hours.
- For acute mastitis: Slow intravenous injection at 1 ml/20 kg body weight (4 mg/kg).
Swine:
- Intramuscular injection at 1 ml/40 kg body weight (2 mg/kg).
Dogs:
- Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection at 1 ml/20 kg body weight (4 mg/kg).
Cats:
- Subcutaneous injection at 0.5 ml/10 kg body weight (4 mg/kg). Repeat if needed after 24 hours.
General Recommendations:
For managing pain and inflammatory responses related to surgical procedures, it is recommended to administer the drug simultaneously with premedication or anesthesia. If necessary, the injection can be repeated after 24 hours.
