Sensipol is a myotropic antispasmodic agent that facilitates the birthing process in animals by promoting relaxation of smooth muscles and increasing the elasticity of the birth canal. The drug has a pronounced antispasmodic effect on the muscles of the cervix, which reduces the risk of complications and injuries to the birth canal during delivery. Sensipol also enhances the action of endogenous oxytocin, increasing the contractile ability of the uterine smooth muscles.
Unique advantages
1. Easing the Birth Process: Denaverine exerts a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the cervix, promoting its dilation and increasing the elasticity of the birth canal. This makes the birthing process more predictable and manageable, reducing stress for the animal and staff. 2. Gentle Impact: By relaxing smooth muscles, it facilitates the passage of the fetus and reduces the risk of birth canal injuries. 3. Safety for Animals: The drug has a low risk of side effects, making it safe for use in cows. 4. Comfort for the Animal: Exerts a mild tranquilizing and analgesic effect, reducing stress and pain sensations.
Indications for use
Sensipol is used: • For obstetric assistance in heifers, cows, and dogs; • In cases of cervical constriction and to stimulate uterine labor activity; • In pathological positions of the fetus or its abnormal development; • To limit the risk of birth canal injuries during fetotomy (oversized fetus, developmental anomalies, and improper positioning of a dead fetus).
Application procedure
For cattle, Sensipol is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of: • Heifers: Dairy breeds — 5.0 ml (200 mg/animal); beef breeds — 10.0 ml (400 mg/animal); • Cows: 10.0 ml (400 mg/animal). For dogs, the drug is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of: • 0.5 ml (up to 10 kg), • 1.0 ml (from 11 kg to 20 kg), • 1.5 ml (20 kg and above). It is recommended to warm the drug to room temperature before administration. The action of the drug begins 10–15 minutes after administration and lasts for several hours. Do not use in the early stages of labor when the cervix is closed. The drug is administered once.
