Cobactoprim is a veterinary antibacterial preparation intended for the treatment of a wide range of infections. Indications for use
Сobactoprim is used for the treatment of bacterial diseases in cattle and pigs.
Cattle
- For the treatment of respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica,
- For interdigital dermatitis of bacterial etiology,
- For necrobacillosis and acute mastitis, including that caused by E. coli,
- For escherichiosis (colibacillosis) in calves;
Pigs
- For respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae,
- For MMA syndrome (mastitis-metritis-agalactia),
- For meningitis caused by Streptococcus spp,
- For arthritis, dermatitis, and other bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to cephquinome.
Application procedure
Сobactoprim is administered to animals by deep intramuscular injection once daily for 2–5 days in the following doses:
For cattle:
- Respiratory diseases – 1 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 50 kg of body weight) – once daily for 3–5 days.
- Acute interdigital necrobacillosis, bacterial dermatitis in the area of the digits – 1 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 50 kg of body weight) – once daily for 3–5 days.
- Acute mastitis complicated by septicemia – 1 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 50 kg of body weight) – once daily for 2 days.
- Escherichiosis (colibacillosis) in calves – 2 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (4 ml of the product per 50 kg of body weight) – once daily for 3–5 days.
For pigs:
- Respiratory diseases – 2 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 25 kg of body weight) – once daily for 3 days.
- MMA syndrome – 2 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 25 kg of body weight) – once daily for 2 days.
- Meningitis, arthritis, dermatitis – 2 mg of cefquinome per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the product per 25 kg of body weight) – once daily for 5 days.
The vial with the product should be thoroughly shaken before each use.
