Indications for use
Calphoton is prescribed to cattle, pigs, and dogs as part of comprehensive treatment and prevention for:
- tetany (during pregnancy, lactation, transportation, grazing, etc.);
- paresis and paralysis of various etiologies (including postpartum);
- rickets, osteodystrophy, osteomalacia;
- allergies, toxicosis;
- disorders of mineral metabolism (disorders of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium metabolism);
- fractures, eclampsia.
Application procedure
Calphoton is administered once intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously at a dose of 2 ml per 10 kg of body weight.
Repeat administration of the drug is allowed after 24 hours at the same doses.
For the prevention of disorders of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium metabolism during pregnancy and lactation, as well as rickets in young animals, Calphoton is administered once at the recommended doses.
- For cattle, Calphoton is injected subcutaneously in the same site up to 50 ml, intramuscularly – up to 25 ml.
- For pigs, intramuscular injection in the same site is allowed up to 15 ml of the product. The drug is administered intravenously slowly and evenly.
