Application procedure
Calphoton is administered to animals parenterally—intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously—as a single dose:
- Cattle, horses: 20 ml per 100 kg of live body weight
- Young cattle: 10 ml per 50 kg of live body weight
- Pigs: 20 ml per 100 kg of live body weight
- Replacement young stock: 10 ml per 50 kg of live body weight
- Weaned piglets: 2 ml per 10 kg of live body weight
- Sheep and goats: 20 ml per 100 kg of live body weight
- Young sheep and goats: 2 ml per 10 kg of live body weight
- Dogs: 2 ml per 10 kg of live body weight
- Cats: 0.5 ml per 5 kg of live body weight
Repeated administration of the drug is permissible after 24 hours in the same doses. For the prevention of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium metabolism disorders during pregnancy, lactation, and for rickets in young animals, Calphoton is used once in the recommended doses.
- For cattle, Calphoton is injected subcutaneously at one site not exceeding 50 ml, intramuscularly—not more than 25 ml.
- For pigs, sheep, and goats, intramuscularly at one site—not more than 15 ml of the preparation.
When administered intravenously, the preparation is injected slowly and evenly.
