Indications for use
The product is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of hypovitaminosis, mineral metabolism disorders, and livestock and dog diseases caused by selenium deficiency.
Application procedure
Gabivit®-Se is administered intramuscularly in the thigh or neck area. Before injection, the skin should be displaced at the injection site to prevent leakage of the solution. In winter, the product should be warmed in a water bath to 25 °C before use. When prescribing the product for prophylaxis, the content of selenium and vitamins in the feeds used in the diet of animals must be considered.
For prophylaxis (during stress, periods of intensive workload, high productivity, pregnancy, reproductive disorders, growth and development delays in young animals, vaccination, deworming, and recovery after illness), the product is administered once at the doses listed below. For treatment, the same doses are applied but given twice with a 7-day interval.
Cattle
- Adults: 15–25 ml per animal
- Young stock (6–12 months): 10–15 ml per animal
- Calves up to 6 months: 5–10 ml per animal
Swine
- Pregnant, lactating sows and boars: 8–15 ml per animal
- Fattening pigs: 5–10 ml per animal
- Weaned piglets: 3–5 ml per animal
Sheep and Goats
- Adults: 10–15 ml per animal
- Young stock: 5–10 ml per animal
- Lambs, kids: 2–3 ml per animal
Dogs
- Body weight up to 10 kg: 1 ml per animal
- Body weight 10–30 kg: 2 ml per animal
- Body weight over 30 kg: 3 ml per animal
All doses indicated are daily norms. For treatment, the drug is administered twice at the same doses with a 7-day interval.
