Indications for use
Ceftiofur, a component of the drug, has bactericidal effects on: • Gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria including Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Salmonella spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Porphyromonas asaccharolytica (Bacteroides melaninogenicus). • Ceftil is used to treat cattle and pigs with bacterial infections of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, sepsis, postpartum infections, mastitis, and arthritis. • The drug is also used in cattle for necrobacillosis and other diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to ceftiofur.
Application procedure
Administer intramuscularly or subcutaneously once a day for 3-5 days in the following doses: • Cattle: 1.0 ml per 50 kg of animal weight, not exceeding 15 ml at one site. • Young cattle: 0.3 ml per 10 kg of animal weight, not exceeding 5 ml at one site. • Pigs: 1.0 ml per 16 kg of animal weight, not exceeding 10 ml at one site. Before each use, the contents of the vial should be thoroughly mixed. Avoid skipping doses as this can reduce therapeutic effectiveness. If a dose is missed, resume administration at the same dosage and according to the same schedule.
