Indications for use
Ceftiofur, a component of the drug, has bactericidal effects on:
- Gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria including Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Salmonella spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Porphyromonas asaccharolytica (Bacteroides melaninogenicus).
- Ceftil is used to treat cattle and pigs with bacterial infections of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, sepsis, postpartum infections, mastitis, and arthritis.
- The drug is also used in cattle for necrobacillosis and other diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to ceftiofur.
Application procedure
- For cattle: subcutaneous injection at a dose of 1 mL per 50 kg of body weight:
- respiratory diseases — for 3–5 days;
- acute interdigital necrobacillosis — for 3 days;
- acute postpartum endometritis (within the first 10 days after calving) — for 5 days.
- For pigs: intramuscular injection at a dose of 1 mL per 16 kg of body weight — for 3–5 days.
Shake the vial thoroughly before each use.
