Indications for use
The drug is prescribed for therapeutic purposes to pigs, broiler chickens, and replacement pullets in cases of bacterial diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol:
- Pigs: for pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Haemophilus parasuis, atrophic rhinitis caused by Pasteurella multocida and Bordetella bronchiseptica.
- Poultry: for colisepticemia, pasteurellosis, staphylococcosis, respiratory diseases of bacterial etiology, including those caused by Ornithobacterium Rhinotracheale.
Application procedure
The drug is administered orally with drinking water in the following daily doses:
- Chicks up to 4 weeks old: 50 ml of the drug per 100 liters of water for 3 days.
- Adult birds: 100 ml of the drug per 100 liters of water for 3 days.
- In cases of salmonellosis and mixed infections, the drug is used for 5 days.
- Pigs: 5 mg of florfenicol per 1 kg of live weight, which corresponds to 1 ml of the drug per 40 kg of live weight of the pig, for 5–7 days.
